Terry Mae Shaffer, 56, Salina, died Tuesday, August 16, 2005.
Mrs. Shaffer was born Terry Mae Carver on Nov. 25, 1948, at Altoona. She was a 1966 graduate of Fredonia High School and received her Master's of Education degree from Pittsburg State University. She was a high school business educator at Westmoreland High School for six years. She continued her teaching career at Salina Central High School for 25 years, where she was a sponsor of the VET squad and cheerleading for many years. She married John Shaffer on Oct. 30, 1976, at First Christian Church in Fredonia.
She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Nelson Carver.
Survivors include her husband, John Joseph, of Salina; a son, John Jay of Lawrence; two daughters, Shelda Mae Wilkinson and husband Cody of Abilene, Texas, and Sheila Mae Shaffer of Salina; her mother, Merima Short Carver of Fredonia; two brothers, Ron Carver and wife Jane of Fredonia and Charles Carver of Wichita; a sister, Shelda Burger and husband Terry of Salina; and 14 nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Salina. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
