Surrounded by family, Grace Postema, 89, went to be with her Lord on, March 6, 2002.
Grace, the oldest sibling of 10, was born in Holland. She met her husband there and was married in 1940. They had two daughters, Geziena and Elia and one son, John. Her family had grown to 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
In 1951, Grace and her husband immigrated to Everett. They moved to Wenatchee in 1961, where she was a homemaker. In 1976, she and her husband moved to George, where they opened a bakery. She decorated wedding cakes and her husband made cherry pies in celebration of George Washington's birthday. Grace had always enjoyed church.
Funeral Services were held Monday, March 11, 2002 at 10 a.m. at Betts Memorial Chapel. Visitation was held Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Services were under the direction of Betts Funeral Service, Wenatchee.
