Perry J and Jean Hairston of Lake Jackson, Texas, passed away Monday, October 20, 2003, at their home.
Family received friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2003, at Lakewood Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 25, 2003, at the Lake Jackson Church of Christ with Chris Benjamin and Curt Gunz officiating.
Perry J served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked for 36 years as a fireman for Dow Chemical Company. Jean was a school teacher for BISD for 30 years. They were members of the Lake Jackson Church of Christ for 41 years.
They are survived by four children, Shirley Brokaw & husband, Larry, of Abilene, Lynn Grandbergs & husband, Totila, of Fort Worth, Jay Hairston & wife, Margaret, of League City, Joe Hairston & wife, Susan, of Lake Jackson; 10 grandchildren, Joshua Brokaw & wife, Amber, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Bethany Brokaw Pitts & husband, David, of Asheville, North Carolina, Jonathan, Christina, and Deborah Brokaw of Abilene, Dixie and Davis Hairston of League City, Lauren, Britt and Lana Jo Hairston of Lake Jackson; Jean's three sisters, Zola Mae Cobb of Abilene, Wrenva Potts of Austin, Bille Daniels & husband, Gene, of Flippin, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Bob Glascow, Albert Wittig, Waiford English, Art Dean, Sanford Thompson, Jim Rabon and Billy Yates.
