Andrew Clayton Booth passed away February 27, 2003 at 1:40 p.m. at the Quincy Convalescent Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Speed, Kansas April 15, 1916 to Louise and Nora Booth. Clayton was one of eleven children. He went to school in Speed. During the Great Depression Clayton did farm work for $2.50 a month and room and board, working 12 to 14 hour days.

In 1937 Clayton, his father and his brother Herb rode freight trains to McCall, Idaho and did farm work there. In the fall of that year they went to Nyssa, Oregon where the Owyhee Project was just beginning to get irrigation water so the farmers could raise sugar beets. Clayton went to work for a young farmer there by the name of Sid Flanagan, who later moved to Quincy.

In 1952 Clayton married Vivian Smith and her four children, Sharon, Donna, Claude, and Ron. Vivian passed away in 1978.

On July 16, 1981 Clayton married Charline Linville Livesay in Reno, Nevada. They made their home in Quincy, where Clayton worked for Stetner Brothers (Rudy and Don) until he retired.

Clayton is survived by his wife, Charline, at home; a brother, Guy Booth of Oregon City; a sister, Ledora Spear and husband of Estacada, Oregon; a very special nephew, Jack White and his wife Sandra of Prineville, Oregon; and Charline's sons, Larry Livesay and wife of Nampa, Idaho and Paul Livesay of Idaho.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2003 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel in Quincy. Services will be held at Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel, Quincy, Washington on Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with concluding services and internment at the Quincy Valley Cemetery. Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel in Quincy is in charge of arrangements.
