Daniel "Dan" Lloyd Harris

Daniel Lloyd Harris, passed away at his home in Algona, IA on Jan. 26, at the age of 39yrs, 9 months, and 18 days.
He was born at Livermore, Iowa, on April 8, 1898. He was the oldest son of Charles R. and Alta E. (Jones) Harris. He was preceded in death by his father; and two sisters: Stella and Mrs. E. Johnson (Mildred).
Dan was united in marriage to Mildred Grace Craig on April 21, 1920 at Martin County, Minn. Three children were born to this union: Lloyd, Alfred, and Hazel. The marriage was later dissolved. He was united in marriage to Velma Fosnaugh on April 27, 1929 at Algona, IA. He is survived by his widow, and six children: Lloyd, Alfred, Hazel, Russell, Harry, and Rose; His mother: Mrs. William (Alta E.) Harris-Murphy; a brother, Harry Harris, and a sister, Mrs. Eva Nelson, all of Grantsburg, Wis.; other sisters, Mrs. Mary Beers of Humboldt, IA; Mrs. Edith Lewis of Fort Dodge, IA; Mrs. Minnie Henry of Mankato, MN; and a brother Chester Harris of Gilmore City, IA; besides many other relatives and friends.
Daniel Lloyd Harris, was Baptized and Confirmed into the Christian Faith at the Methodist Church in Livermore, Iowa and has lived his Faith all of his earthly life. He was a loving father, husband, son, uncle, and neighbor. His earthly possessions were meek and humble but God blessed him with that ever willing hand to help a friend in distress, and now he is recieving his Heavenly reward.
Services were held at 2:00 P.M. Friday afternoon, on Jan. 28, 1938 at McCullough Funeral Home in Algona, IA. Burial was in the Union Cemetery near Livermore, IA. The service was delivered by Rev. F. C. Volzke, pastor of the Baptist Church of Algona, IA.
Music was furnished by members of the Baptist Choir, and the songs sung were: "The Old Rugged Cross," "In The Garden," and "Going Down The Valley."
His mother, a brother, two sisters, one son and daughter were unable to attend the funeral services, but will call on a later date.
