Obituary
Max K. Plunkett, 84, passed away peacefully Friday, June 23, 2006 at SpringMeade Health Center, in Tipp City. He was born Feb. 5 1922 in Miami County to the late Algernan and Glenna Harmon Plunkett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Don R. Plunkett and nephew Gene Fisher.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary (Wray) Plunkett and their five children: Joan and her husband Anthony DellaMonica of Clearwater, Florida; Jean and her husband Roger Stout of Canal Winchester, Gail and his wife Theresa Plunkett of Dayton, Diane and her husband Bruce Brownlee of Kennesaw, Georgia and Gary Plunkett of Cincinnati. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Kris Persinger of Washington D.C., Kelly Persinger of Clearwater, Florida, Kary Brownlee of Kennesaw, Ga., Kian Brownlee of Augusta, Ga., Kaye Brownlee Winston-Salem, NC.Kani Brownlee of Kennesaw, Ga. , Zachary Stout of Breckenridge, CO., Mary Stout of Acton, Mass. , Bridget Plunkett Cassidy, Elizabeth, Susan and Leah Plunkett of Cincinnati and Max Plunkett II, Sandy and Michael of Dayton. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Brooke, Brittany and Bryce Brownlee of Kennesaw, Ga. Two sisters survive him, Roberta Fisher and Mildred Bussey, one brother, Richard Plunkett of Tipp City.

A lifelong resident of Miami County, Max graduated from Bethel High School in 1941 and retired from TWA in 1984. Max served three years in the US Army, 13th Infantry, 8th Division during the European Campaign of World War II. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

He was an avid bowler and sports fan and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play, no matter what the sport. He was a member of the local TWA retirees and was proud being the PR man for Sam & Ethel's Restaurant after his retirement.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Church of Christ in Troy, Ohio. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Tipp City. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Frings and Bayliff Funeral home Tipp City.
