Obituary from Post Register (Idaho Falls, ID) - 3 October 2001:
REXBURG - Earl Andrew Poulsen, 88, of Rexburg, Idaho, died October 1, 2001, at his home.
He was born January 2, 1913, at Ephraim, Utah, to Hans LeRoy and Stella Lydia Andersen Poulsen. He attended schools in Utah and Rexburg, and graduated from high school in Mount Pleasant, Utah. On January 2, 1935, he married Annetta Phy Brady in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945. For many years, he worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many positions, including ward executive secretary and ward clerk. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping and his roses. He also enjoyed sports and was an avid Brigham Young University sports fan. Earl especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Annetta Poulsen of Rexburg; children, Kenneth E. (Edytha) Poulsen of Rexburg, Lynda (Marvin) Struhs of Rigby, Douglas (LaVoun) Poulsen of Rexburg, James B. (Geanine) Poulsen of Boise, Louise (Randy) Dixon of Shelley, and Ruth (David) Rolfson of Rexburg; brothers and sisters, Harold (Artella) Poulsen, Estella (George) Shail, Afton Poulsen, and Lynn (Gwen) Poulsen; 29 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, a granddaughter, and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Rexburg LDS North Stake Center. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg, and Friday from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Rexburg Cemetery.
