Donald L. Hubby, 77, of Boone died of a hear ailment Thursday at Post Charlotte, Fl. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Central Christian Church in Boone, with burial at Bass Point Cemetery near Boone.
Mr. Hubby was born near Luther and lived most of his life in Boone. He started Boone Welding in 1946, company that grew into Mid States Steel Corp. and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Navy Seabee Veterans of America and the Elks Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Jean; a daughter, Claudia Ferry of Boone; two sons, Roger and Ron, both of Boone; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Stark-Wellin Chapel, where the family will be present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donald L. Hubby Scholarship Fund.
