Mrs. Linda Francis Herndon Holloway passed away peacefully in her home and into the arms of her Lord on July 26, 2008. She was surrounded by her family in Sneads, Florida. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. CDT on Sunday, July 27, 2008, at Lanier-Andler Funeral Home in Sneads, Fla., with interment following at Shady Grove Cemetery, Grand Ridge, Fla. Linda was born on October 19,1944, in Panama City, Fla., to Mary Francis Turner and James Robert Newman. She was a life long resident of Sneads, and graduated from Sneads High School. She served as City Clerk of the Town of Sneads for 33 years. She was a member of Sneads Assembly of God Church. She adored her grandchildren and was always proud to be called "Nanny". She is survived by her husband, Raymond Holloway of Sneads, Fla.; two sons, Bobby Herndon (wife, Paula) of Ocala, Fla., and Billy Herndon (wife, Janice) of Odessa, Fla.; one daughter, Shay Chapman (husband, Kevin) of Tallahassee, Fla.; several grandchildren, Caleb Herndon, Blake Herndon, Misty Keough (husband, Ted), Melenie Roe, Jessica Roe, Mary Beth Shields and Carson Chapman; a great-grandchild, Landon Keough; and two brothers, James Robert Newman of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Bill Turner of Sneads, Fla. Flowers are being accepted or contributions can be made to Covenant Hospice, 4349 Lafayette St., Marianna, FL 32446. Lanier Andler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
