Carl Buchen Risser. Was born at Akron, PA but grew up in Lititz, where he remained his whole life. He was a descendant of Swiss Mennonite immigrant, Peter Risser (# 13409317), who came to America in 1739. Carl started the Risser Poultry Company in 1928, about the time he married Ruth Adeline Weaver. They had one son and four daughters.

Carl B. Risser, Poultry Firm Founder, Dies
Carl B. Risser, 69, of 347 N. Broad St., Lititz, died at
10;30 a.m. Sunday at the Audubon Villa, Lititz, after an illness of one year. He had been a guest at the Villa since February. He was the husband of Ruth A. Weaver Risser.
Born in Akron, he was a son of the late Jacob W. and Edna Buchen Risser. He lived in Lititz most of his life.
He was president of the Risser Poultry Inc., Lititz, and founded the business 47 years ago. He was well known in the area for having developed the transportation of poultry from producer to processor on an interstate basis.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Lititz, where he was very active. He was a former member of the church council, a former member of the church choir and was music director of the Sunday School. He was a member of the Poultry Federation of Lancaster County and a member of the Lititz Fire Company.
Surviving in addition to his widow are five children. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Paul B. Risser, Lancaster; Leon B. Risser and Edna B. Risser both of Lititz; Lillian, wife of Ivan M. Weaver, Leola; Ruth, wife of Elwood Hershey, Lititz; Kathryn, wife of Alton Hoffman, Reading, and Robert B. Risser, Lititz.
