Mary Smalley
Rosary will be recited at 6:30 tonight at the downtown Welch-Ryce-Haider chapel for Mary M."Coonie" Smalley, 91, a native Santa Barbaran who died Saturday at her residence,113 W. Ortega St., after a lengthy illness.
Mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, with interment following in Calvary Cemetery.
She was born April 2, 1894, and was the mother of Leslie Allen, for whom a memorial tennis tournament has been held each year since his death in 1939.
Mrs. Smalley is survived by another son, Edward Allen of Santa Barbara; a brother Joseph Rouard of Santa Barbara; a sister, Mrs. Dolores Giovannetti of Santa Barbara; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
