She was born in Oslo, Norway on November 17, 1907, a daughter of Martha Elisabeth Hofstetter and Julius Severin Stenersen.
At the age of 20 she sailed to the United States with her mother and sister Judith. They were met in New York by her father who had come to the states earlier. They made their home in Salt Lake City.
On August 29, 1930, she married Emil Gilbert Harry Hall in the Salt Lake Temple. They were the parents of five children.
Astrid was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was able to attend regularly until a few weeks before her death.
During World War II she worked at the arms plant in West Valley City. She spent 40 years helping her husband operate an egg business on 39th South.
Her yard was always filled with beautiful flower beds, and she enjoyed keeping them free of weeds. She was an excellent cook.
She also enjoyed reading and was able to continue this hobby until the time of her death. She was blessed with a keen mind and a wonderful memory until the very end of her life.
She is survived by her children: Gladys Reseigh, Einar (wife Jeri) Hall, Stanley (wife Arlene) Hall, Dennis Hall and Judith Jones. She has 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert and her sister Judith.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at the corner of 2000 East and 3900 South. Friends may call at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening and one hour prior to the services at the LDS Chapel on Wednesday.
