The body of Americus Marion Dick,
79 year old Redding pioneer who passed
on here Saturday, was sent Monday to
Sacramento. Funeral services were held
there Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock,
with Rev. Raymond Bailey of the Methodist
church officiating. Cremation was made at
East Lawn.

Dick was an undertaker in both Redding and
Kennett for many years, retiring some years
ago. He came to Redding 46 years ago.

He was born April 23, 1860, in Hamilton,
Butte county.

Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Lora M. Dick; a
son, Elbert E. Dick, Redding city electrician;
a daughter, Mrs. Lola Cable [Kable] of
Redding; three brothers, James Dick and John
Dick of Florence, Oregon; and Thomas Dick
of Biggs; a sister, Mrs. Jennie Hoag of
Vallejo, three grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the Redding Eagles and
Odd Fellows lodges.

Funeral arrangements are in charge of
McDonald's Chapel.
