Sevall "Zip" W. Hemness, 72, died January 15, 1977 at the North Big Horn Hospital of a massive heart attack. He was born in 1904 in Norway, Iowa. He came to the Big Horn Basin in 1935 where he has lived since. He married Allene Barrell September 29, 1941 in Billings, Montana. They have made their home in Lovell since. Mr. Hemness was a road maintenance forman for Big Horn County until his retirement. He was a member of the Oddfellow's Lodge and the Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Donna Hauk, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Oddfellow's Hall with Reverend Howard Polk officiating. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery.
