C.J. Robinson, my FATHER, was a loving Christian man.
As a child he was nicknamed "Chalk". His family and friends called him "Claude or Claudie" or "C.J.".
During the war years he was not able to join the fight due to "flat feet" so he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), in West Plains, MO where he was raised.
In 1944 he moved with his wife and 2 baby daughters to Kansas City, MO. He worked for Orscheln Bros truck line as a over-the-road-driver for 31 years. During those years he was a proud Teamster member of Local 41 and held the position of Union Trustee for several years.
Upon the unexpected closing of Orscheln Bros Trucking CO, he worked with his wife of 51 years, Ruth, in the Fun Kitchen Bakery that they owned in the Grandview, MO area (1984-1989).
During his retirement he became a dedicated Gideon and placed many Bibles in motel/hotel rooms. He served his church as a dedicated usher for many years.
In 1989 he and his wife moved to Butler, MO, where he slumbered to colon cancer after a brave fight against it. During those painful months, he always keeping a positive outlook and encouraged others.
He leaves 4 daughters; Julia Howe, Irene Shriver, Lucille Robinson, Martie Martin, and a son, John Robinson, missing him very much. We rely upon our wonderful memories to sustain us through the years. Some of those memories are of him working in his large garden or riding his lawnmower, or sitting at the head of the table for a great family dinner. He was/is loved by all.
Brothers: Howard and Harl Robinson, half-sister, Georgia Faye.
Stepsiblings; Dayton "Bert" Fields, Jewell (Fields) Stradford, Corrajean (Fields) Lingnfelter, Margaret (Fields) Moore, Jay Burch.
