Minnette Earl, 102, died at the New Horizons Care Center in Lovell May 7, 2005.
She was born September 26, 1902, in Lovell to Jacob Farham McArthur and Clara Estella Tippetts. Her early years were spent in the rural Lovell area. Minnette attended school and was in the first graduating class from Lovell High School. Following graduation she served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Minnesota. Returning from her mission she then attended Utah Agricultural College (Utah State University) for two years.
Minnette started teaching school and taught for 25 years in Lovell and Salt Lake City, retiring at age 66.
She was an active member in her church as a chorister in the Relief Society, teacher in Sunday school, chorister in Young Womens and ward organist for 35 years. Minnette taught herself to play the piano and organ. Music was a great part of her life.
Minnette was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Levi Earl; son-in-law, Ross D. Wardell Jr.; grandson, Norman Earl Wardell; also her parents; sisters, Clara, Ann, LeGene and Leah; and brothers, Farnham, Evan, Heber, Wes and Ervin.
She is survived by her daughters, Romola Wardell, Genevieve Fink, Phyllis and Joyce Earl; her son, Lowell (Sodie) Earl; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 29 great-great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at the LDS Church in Lovell. Interment was in the Lovell Cemetery.
