Clarence Gudgel's Rites are Slated


HONEY GROVE (Spl.) Funeral services for Clarence Gudgel, 84, a retired farmer who lived on Route 4, Honey Grove, will be held at the Baptist church at Allen's Point at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Gudgel died in a Bonham hospital at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 1960, following an illness of several weeks.


The Rev. Kenneth Wright, pastor of the church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Cedar Mills cemetery directed by West Funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted there at 4 p.m. with grandsons serving as pallbearers.


Surviving are four sons, Charlie Gudgel, George Gudgel and Kenneth Gudgel, all of Allen's Point, and John Gudgel of McLean; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.


Born Dec. 23, 1874, in Illinois, Mr. Gudgel was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Gudgel. He married Miss Nettie Mangis in 1895 and she preceded him in death in 1936. He was a member of the Michigan Prairie Baptist church.
