Ernest Babb died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 1971 in the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Durham, NC following a lengthy illness. Native of Spartanburg County, SC and son of Robert Hunter and Emma Watson Babb. He was an employee of Inman Mills and a U. S. Army World War II Veteran. Survivors included: three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Strickland, Mrs. Lucy Solesbee and Mrs. Lucille Clayton; four brothers, Berry, Paul, Broadus and Bill Babb.
