George Albert Bigelow was born in Nephi, Utah, the son of James Otis Bigelow and Elizabeth Cazier. He came with his parents to Millville in 1861 and lived in a two-room house above the lower canal. Later, he worked on the farm his father purchased east of town.

On October 11, 1880, in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City, he married Annie Spackman, the daughter of Henry and Ann Hopkins Spackman. She was born September 9, 1861, in Burbage, England, and came with her family to Millville at the age of eleven.

George and Annie lived in the family home and helped with the Post Office.

George died just two months after his father died; and Annie became Postmaster, an office she held until December 1891.

They were the parents of two children: Alberta (William Mack) and George Albert (May Sirta).

After George's death, Annie married Lorenzo Humphrey.
