Born in Burlington, Burlington County, N.J., September 5, 1875. Son of James H. Birch (1839-1927) and Hannah M. Birch (1845-1884); married, November 5, 1903, to Helen L. Barr. Carriage manufacturing business; aide to Gov. Woodrow Wilson of New Jersey in 1912-13; U.S. Minister to Portugal, 1913-22. Died February 1, 1929. Interment at Odd Fellows Cemetery.
