Daniel Fahrenheit was a physicist and engineer who worked most of his life in the Netherlands. Fahrenheit was born in Gdansk as the son of Daniel and Concordia Fahrenheit. His interest in sciences caused him to take up studies and experimentation in that field. His studies brought him to the Netherlands and in 1724 and he became a member of the Royal Society. Daniel Fahrenheit developed precise thermometers and his FAHRENHEIT SCALE is still used in the United States.
