His mother died in the same month January as his birth and then his father married his wife's younger sister in Sept.

Laurel Martin - West Lafayette

Laurel Martin, 54, of West Lafayette Route 1, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday shortly after admission to County Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 9, 1907, in Coshocton, a son of Charles and Laura Randles Mullett. On July 4, 1932, he was married to Mary Johnson, who survives.

Mr. Martin formerly operated a grocery business and an egg produce route. He was a member of the Four Square Gospel Church at Newcomerstown.

Surviving besides his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Jerry Christman, West Lafayette Route 1; a half-sister, Miss Irma Martin, both of Coshocton; two half-brothers, Lester Mullett, Newcomerstown Route 1 and John Mullett, West Lafayette; step=brother, Kenneth Martin, Indianapolis, Ind., and three grandchildren. Two sisters are deceased.

Services are to be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown, Rev. O.E. Ghere will officiate with burial in Fairfield Cemetery at West Lafayette.

Calling hours at the Newcomerstown funeral home will be observed from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
