Funeral services for John Wayne Bailey, 40, who died Saturday, May 14, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Bailey, in St. Maurice following a heart attack, were held May 16, at 3 p.m. at Sardis Church with the Rev. H. D. Gorum of Sardis, and the Rev. Turner Davis of Montgomery officiating. Burial was in the Sardis Cemetery.

Mr. Bailey was employed by the state highway department and was a native of Winnfield.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mattie Johns Bailey, Montgomery; his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Helen Elwood of Port Allen, and Mrs. Lucy Howard of Denver, Colo.; three half sisters, Mrs. Mattie Lou Worsham of St. Maurice, Mrs. Marie Waddell, of New Orleans, and Mrs. Ella Brady of Atlanta; two half brothers, Chris Bailey of St. Maurice and Irvie Worsham of Monroe.
