Review Gives Details Of B.M. Austin Death.

B.M. Austin, 67, jeweler at the Carter Drug Co., was found dead in his room at the Warner hotel Sunday evening. Mr. Austin had complained Saturday evening about feeling indisposed and retired early. About midnight his condition required medical attention, but he appeared to be feeling better Sunday morning. He left his room, ate a light breakfast and after a short conversation with friends, returned to his room. About 9 p.m. Mrs. Warner knocked on his door to ascertain how he was feeling, and when repeated attempts failed to get response, she summoned aid. Several men arrived and as the door was bolted from the inside they peered in thru the transom and made the gruesome discovery. He was lying in the bed almost fully dressed and so silently did the grim reaper creep upon him that no struggle for life was evident. According to reports, physicians attribute his death to acute indigestion.
As it was apparently a case of death from natural causes, no inquest was held. The body was removed to Teeter's funeral home, and Mrs. Jack Buchanan of Lawton, a niece of the deceased, and other relatives were notified. Mr. Austin was born in New York state and came to Apache a few months ago from Carnegie, where he had resided several years.
Although his stay in Apache was of short duration, he had acquired a host of friends who will regret to hear of his departure from this life. It is said that his only known relatives are one brother, a sister and niece. The remains were shipped to McFall, Mo., the home of his sister.--Apache Review.
