"A native of Austria-Hungary, Mrs. Paula Marie Hunter died Friday evening at her home, 411 South Fifth. Tuesday at 2 p.m. funeral service will be in Grace Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jay Gideon, associate will be in Billings Union Cemetery. The family is at the Charles Hunter residence, 1601 El Camino. Mrs. Hunter was born Dec. 12, 1888, and received her education in Vienna. When she was about 14 she came to the United States with her parents, Anton and Francisca Kasper, settling in Billings. She was married to Carl Hunter on June 5, 1908, at Enid and they established their home in Novelty, Mo., where he was a rural mail carrier. He transferred to Billings, where Mr. and Mrs. Hunter also owned and operated a meat market. Later they moved to a farm between Perry and Billings. Upon retirement from the farm, they returned to Billings. Following her husband's death, Mrs. Hunter came to Ponca City to live. She was a member of the First Christian Church and an honorary member of the Eastern Star No. 84 at Perry. She received a 50-year pin and had been mother advisor of the Order of Rainbow for Girls for several years. Surviving are her son, Charles, 1601 El Camino; a daughter, Mrs. Josephine Bishop of Houston; a brother Fred Kasper of Perry; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by four brothers." PONCA CITY NEWSPAPER, 9 June 1974.
