Cleo Beth Barton Christiansen, 69, of Lovell, died Saturday, September 12, 1992 at New Horizons Care Center of natural causes.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 15, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lovell L.D.S. Stake Center with Bishop Otis Graves conducting.

Cleo was born April 20, 1923 at Randolph, Utah, to Arthur Gilbert and Vilate Spencer Barton. She was raised and received her education in Randolph where she met her husband, Chester E. Christiansen. They were married in the Logan Temple on May 29, 1941. They lived briefly in Evanston, WY before moving to Lovell in 1946.

She was an active member of the L.D.S. Church, Wyoming Historical Society, and Wyoming Writers Guild. In 1967 she wrote the book "Sagebrush Settlements". She enjoyed doing handwork, reading, and associating with people.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother, and two grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Gerry of Lovell and Sam of St. Anthony, Idaho; sister, Alice Meier of Randolph, Utah; 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
