The Funneral Sevices was held on July 10, 2009 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Baker officiating. Mr. Payton was a brick mason for fourty seven years, and was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. He survised by his wife of fifty five years, and His four children. He had six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and his two sisters.

God saw that he was getting Tired
and a cure was not to be:
so He put His arms around him
and whispered, "Come with Me."

With tearful eyes in silence,
we saw him fade away
Altough we loved him dearly,
we could not make him stay.

A golden heart stopped beating;
hard working hands laid to rest.
God broke our heart to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
