Lorraine E. Black, 93 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Sunday, July 5th, 2009 at the Edgewood Vista in East Grand Forks, MN.

Lorraine Evelyn Larson was born on April 7, 1916 in East Grand Forks, MN the daughter of Julius and Esther (Erickson) Larson. Lorraine grew up in rural East Grand Forks, MN and attended School at East Grand Forks Central High School. She attended local teachers college and then taught rural school at Pleasant View Independent School District #78 where she taught her twin brothers Ralph and Ray. On December 14, 1940 she was united in marriage to Donald Black in Fargo, ND. They moved to California where all her children were born. In 1951 they moved back to East Grand Forks, MN and from 1953 to 1961 they lived in Warren, MN. Lorraine taught piano for many years and was very involved with her children's activities. Lorraine was a very accomplished oil painter later in life.

Family members who survive Lorraine include her children: Brian (Diana) Black of Dayton, WA, Terry of Fergus Falls, MN, Cheryl (Lyle) Wright of Moorhead, MN and Richard (Sue) Black of East Grand Forks, MN; two brothers: Ralph (Rhea) Larson of East Grand Forks, MN and Ray (Irene) Larson of Angus, MN; sister-in-law: Viola "Maggie" Larson of East Grand Forks, MN; sixteen grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald on June 16, 1996; one brother, Milton Larson and daughter-in-law, Nancy Black.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 9, 2009 in Bethany Lutheran Church, 10321 State Highway 220 NW, East Grand Forks, MN.

Visitation: Two Hours before funeral service in Bethany Lutheran Church.

Burial: Bethany North Lutheran Church Cemetery
