Minnie Mavis Caldwell, 90, of Pelzer, S.C., died Monday, May 23, 2005.

Born in Dalton, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Boone and Luna Tarpley Cochran.

Mrs. Caldwell was a retired pastor's wife and was a member of Pelzer Church of God.

Surviving are daughter, Dr. Faye Whitten of Cleveland, Tenn; a son, Dr. Noel Caldwell of Columbia; two granddaughters; ten great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Juanita Sealy of Mineral Bluff, Ga.; and brothers, Amos and Vernon Cochran of Dalton, Ga., and Thayne Cochran of Cartersville, Ga.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Lester C. Caldwell; and granddaughter, Linda Kay Sprick.

The family wishes to express special appreciation to Mrs. Caldwell's primary caregiver, Sister Martha Coby, who lived in and ministered to her during the last seven years. Also, ministering care to her more recently were two great-granddaughters, Jane Cantrell and Judy Billingsley. Other faithful caregivers were Irene Durant, Jean Bundridge and Tonya Wilson. These caregivers enabled her to fulfill her wishes to remain in her home until her death.

Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with visitation prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the residence.
