He was born March 25, 1920, in Belmont, Miss., son of the late Jim and Ovilla Luster Morrison.
He was a resident of Erie for 40 years, moving here from Lubbock, Texas.
He was retired from St. Vincent Health Center where he worked in the Maintenance Dept.
He had previously been employed as a Detailer at Erie Casket Company and as a Night Watchman at Erie Stryer Company.
He was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Army.
He was a member of Community Baptist Church for 39 years and served as a Trustee for over 25 years.
He enjoyed old western movies, watching baseball on television (was a New York Yankee fan) and drinking his coffee.
He was a very even-tempered and gentle man who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and going to church.
Troy was a devoted husband and father and will be dearly missed by his family, his church family and his friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ed, Reese, Thelma and Cleve Morrison, and two sisters, Leona Warren and Ila Morrison.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years, Margaret Sanders Morrison, Erie; three sons, Troy Morrison, Jr. and wife Hattie, Thomas Wallace Morrison and John Morrison and wife Cindy, all of Erie; five grandchildren, Elayna, Christopher, DeAndre, Troy Jermaine "TJ" and Michael L. Morrison; his long-time caregivers, Violet Scrimenti and Lois Arrington; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, church family and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, Noon to 1 p.m., at Community Baptist Church, 1001 German St.
A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. conducted by Rev. Herlis Murphy.
Interment in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
