DIES HERE AT 80


GRANITE FALLS, Dec. 10.
Mrs. H. S. Smith, eighty, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. O.B. Sherrill, in Hickory Wednesday evening.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Dudley Shoals Baptist Church in Caldwell County at eleven a.m. Friday with the Rev. E. V. Bumgarner of Taylorsville, officiating, assisted by Rev. C. C. Holland of Hickory. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body was taken today to the home of a son, O. L. Smith in the Dudley Shoals Community to await the funeral hour.
Mrs. Smith, a former resident of the Dudley Shoals Community, had made her home in Hickory with Mrs. Sherrill for the last four years.
She is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. E. S. Starnes, Mrs. D. B. Fowler, and Mrs. E. M. Bowman of Granite Falls; another son, Herbert Smith of Granite Falls; one sister, Mattie Sheek of Norfolk, Va., and two half-brothers, Luther Furches and Kimbrough Furches of Mocksville.
