Mr. Allen was born Feb. 5, 1941 at Coffeyville, to Archie Kenneth and Mary Helen (Ineichen) Allen. At the age of three he moved with his family to Chanute. He attended Chanute schools graduating from Chanute High School in 1959 and Chanute Junior College in 1961. He later attended Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, Kans.
He married Jennifer J. Jordan on April 20, 1963, at Chanute. Following their marriage, they made their home in Independence. In 1973 they moved to Coffeyville.
Mr. Allen had worked for Condon National Bank and later Sunrise Oil Company of Caney. In 1992 he established the Gun ‘N Pawn Shop on West Eighth Street, Coffeyville.
He was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus, Third Degree; Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, Joyce Kilmer Assembly; Coffeyville Shooters and the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Allen enjoyed camping and hunting.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, a daughter, and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, and a sister.
Mr. Allen has been cremated.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Monday at Holy Name Catholic Church. The family would welcome memorials to the Knights of Columbus Scholarship fund. Memorial gifts may be left at the funeral home.
