She was a long time resident of Hastings until her health started failing her. She worked as a housewife. She was a faithful member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church until her health failed her. She then served under the former pastor, Rev. Robert Holtz.

She leaves to mourn two nephews, Anthony Thomas, Georgia, Arthur (Thomas) Jones of Hastings; one niece, Erma Bryant; sister, Annie Thomas.
Funeral services were Saturday, October 14, 2000, 2 p.m. at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church with former pastor Robert Holtz officiating. Burial followed at Masonic Cemetery in Hastings. Viewing was Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the chapel and 1 p.m. until the hour of services at the church on Saturday.
