Obituary--Mae R. McDaniel, 96, of Independence, MO passed away July 7, 2012 at St. Luke's East Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, at Mound Grove Cemetery. Mae was born November 7, 1915 in Springfield, Missouri to Henry W. and Sina J. (Womack) Kinser. She enjoyed gardening and had a love for music. In her early years, she and her sister Jewell played the electric guitar and sang on the radio. She was the office manager at Milgrams Grocery Store from 1955-1980. Mae was a member of Community of Christ New Walnut Park Congregation. She will be remembered as someone who was always there to help others in their time of need. Mae was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil Crull; second husband, Forest McDaniel; one daughter, Carol Finney; four siblings, Hubert Kinser, Jewell Sarratt-Crull, Eugene Kinser and Helen Sims. She is survived by her sister-in-law, nieces, nephew, two grandsons, and other nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Billie Canty for her friendship, compassionate care and support throughout Mae's illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Community of Christ New Walnut Park Congregation, 1137 S. Pearl, Independence, MO 64050 or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 6811 Shawnee Mission Pkwy, Mission, KS 66202.
