Funeral services were held at the Richardson chapel Tuesday morning for Riley Ellsworth Carman of Fairbury, who died suddenly Saturday. Rev. A.S. Dodgson officiated at the service. Interment was in the Fairbury cemetery (sic).

Riley Ellsworth Carman, fifth son of Joshua (sic) and Mary Carman, was born July 23, 1873, near Riley, Kansas, where he grew to manhood, and died at Fairbury June 17, 1933, at the age of 59 years, 10 months, and 24 days.

He was married April 20, 1897, to Annabel Blythe. To this union were born seven children, two of whom, Joe B. and Buster, preceded him in death. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Carman moved to Oklahoma, where they lived for a number of years before returning to Kansas. After living at Washington for a time they came to Fairbury in 1916.

He is survived by his wife and five children: H.L. Carman of Nelson and Verne, Kenneth, Donald and Mary, living at home; a sister, Mrs. Emma Stanfield of Gooding, Idaho; one brother, J.G. Carman of Selden, Kansas; and two grand daughters, Dorothy and Shirley Carman. -- Fairbury News. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Carman of this place, attended the funeral of his father.
