He worked on many projects in the area, including the road through the Wind River Canyon, the Big Horn Canal near Worland and the Lovell canal. In 1927 he began working for Great Western Sugar Company, as Beed End Foreman and continued in this capacity until his retirement in 1958.
He was an ardent fisherman and outdoors-man and accomplished musician.
He had been in poor health in recent years and died April 19, 1963. He was preceded in death by a son who died in infancy.
Survivors include six children; LaMar, Glen and Mrs. Effie Mayes of Lovell; Mrs. Vera Kirby of Redding, Calif.; Mrs. Berma Maughan of Newark, Calif; and Therrell of Inverness, Mont. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Effie Brown; and two brothers, Glen and Myrl, all of Lovell.
