Arta Sawyer Asay, 72, passed away in Worland, Wyoming on Friday, October 13, as they were passing through. She was born December 23, 1900 at Hatch, Utah, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Sawyer.
She married Homer Aron Asay, March 17, 1916 in Lovell, Wyoming. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1955.
Most of her life was spent as a housewife, farming with her husband in the Kane area and Tensleep area of Wyoming. She is a member of the LDS Church.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Doris Allphin of Lovell, Zelpha Averett of Lovell, and Sylva Dobbins of Englewood, California; 4 sisters, Sylva Wilder of Lovell, Venessa Gibson of Greely, Colorado, Delpha Orcutt of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Ireta Mills of Worland, 3 brothers, Levi and Earnest of Lovell and Merlin of Mesa, Arizona; 8 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
