Went to Colorado during "gold excitement"
Marshall was brother of Daniel A Hayward 'the veteran sexton of Boulder Cemetery.' He recently came from California to have his eyes operated on by Dr. Chase. He had been blind for years. The operation was successful and Mr. Hayward was able to see. The funeral was at Trezise's and attended by the G.A.R. in a body. He spent 4 1/2 years at the front during the Civil War. He enlisted in the 2nd Reg. Colorado Volunteers at Denver.
