Funeral services for Mrs. Mary G. Abraham, a 49-year resident of Galveston, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the J. Levy & Bro. Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Dallas.
Mrs. Abraham died at 8:05 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Hospital.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Galveston Art League, Wednesday Club, American Association of University Women, civic association and retired music teacher's association She was retired from the Galveston public schools. Mrs. Abraham received her bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University, her M.A. degree from University of Texas and her Ph.D. from Inter-American University.
She is survived by a son, Gordon Steer of Fort Worth, Friends may call at the funeral home Monday.

From her son, Gordon's, obituary:
"Mary had graduated at the top of her class at Southern Methodist University, so Gordon's mother always expected him to do at least as well in school as she did, which he said was sometimes a difficult standard to meet".

She was employed as a school teacher in Galveston County, Texas.
