E. Remon Bithell, 94, of Annis, Idaho, a former Swan Valley resident, died July 7, 2009, at Rexburg Care and Rehabilitation.
He was born July 18, 1914, in Swan Valley, Idaho, to Heber and Eliza Stuker Bithell. He was raised and attended schools in Swan Valley. On October 28, 1942, he married Golda Kathryn Hoops in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He operated a farm and livestock operation in Swan Valley for many years and worked for several years at the sugar factory in Lincoln.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served for several years as a ward clerk in three different bishoprics in Swan Valley, as well as a High Priest group leader and Sunday School president.
At the time of his death, he was surrounded by his family and his best friend.
He is survived by his four children, Linda (Marlen) Georgia of Milo, Vicki (Kent) Frisby of Parker, Gloria (Rick) Gray of Idaho Falls and Joan Golda (Roger) Oler of Twin Falls; 19 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Golda, who died January 24, 2003; a grandson; two brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Annis Ward Chapel in Menan. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Annis-Little Butte Cemetery under the care of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby.
