Max Lee Abbott was born October 1, 1942 and departed this life Thursday, June 2, 2011 reaching the age of 68. He was the son of the late Leo and Eva Mae (Chriswell) Abbott.
He was united in marriage to Joyce Boston on May 1, 1960 and to this union 2 children were born.

He is survived by: 2 daughters, Debra Suzanne (Michael) Riha of Indianapolis, IN and Novia Lee Abbott of Greenfield, IN; 4 grandchildren, Suzanne Lynn Riha, Christopher Newton Loflin, Matthew James Riha and Timothy Michael Loflin; 3 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Joyce Riha, Isaac Charles Collins and Maliyah Velma Collins. He is also survived by: 2 brothers, Hoyt (Shirley) Abbott of Monticello, KY and Billie Jo (Jackie) Abbott of Kingsman, AZ; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Leo and Eva Abbott, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Joyce Abbott; 1 brother, Lynn Abbott; and 1 sister, Mary Freda Abbott.

Max graduated from Wayne Co., KY High School and was a truck driver for many years retiring from McLean Trucking. He was a member of Teamsters Union Local #135, Moose Lodge #17, and the NRA.

In Indiana: Visitation will be Sunday, June 5, 2011 from 2 - 6 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Wash. St., Indianapolis, IN.

In Kentucky: The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 7, 2011from 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 1 pm at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home with Bro. Burney Manning officiating. Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: American Cancer Society or Disabled American Veterans
