Hazel L. Sutherland passed away on July 8, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Blue Springs, Mo. She was a lifelong resident of Independence, Mo.
Hazel is survived by a son, Robert Sutherland of Kirksville, Mo.; a daughter, Brenda K. Ulland of Gardner, Kan.; three sisters, Hallowgene Benedict of Independence, Mo., Donna Price of Mulberry, Kan., and Karen Wilkins of Preston, Mo.; two brothers, Dale Stephens of Holden, Mo., and Kenneth Stephens of Holden, Mo. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sutherland, and a son, Jimmie Sutherland.
Funeral services will be at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Road, Independence, MO 64050, Friday, July 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial immediately following in Mound Grove Cemetery.
