Joan Marie Douthat Cyrus of Versailles, Ky., formerly of Flatwoods, Ky., died July 6, 2009, in Taylor Manor Nursing Home in Versailles.
Mrs. Cyrus was born in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Glen and Bernice Marie Holderby Douthat.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Rep. Ronald R. Cyrus.
She was retired from King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky., and a member of Big Woods Community Church in Wellington, Ky.
Surviving are daughters Cheri (John) Rosenberger of Westerville, Ohio, Lisa (Fred) Combs of Versailles and Angie (Eric) McNulty of Bel Air, Md.; two sons, Kevin Cyrus (Sabrina) of Flatwoods and Billy Ray Cyrus (Tish) of Thompson Station, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters Michele Shank Conley of Milton, W.Va., and Eloise Phillips of Albuquerque, N.M.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky. Burial will be in Cyrus Family Cemetery in Louisa, Ky.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 10 at the funeral home.
