Harvey Scroggins, formerly of 318 S. Burns, a resident of Heritage Village, died Wednesday, Jan 23, 1991, in the Wetumka General Hospital at the age of 81.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan 26, at 2:30 p.m. in the Hudson Chapel with Larry Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Holdenville Cemetery.
Mr. Scroggins was born Nov 13, 1909, in Seminole County. As a young boy, he moved to Hughes County and attended Jackson School. He was married March 31, 1928, to Lucille Wingo.
After their marriage, they continued to live in this area and farmed. In the mid-1950s, they moved into Holdenville and he followed the oilfield work until 1971, When he retired.
He was a member of the East Main Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, Oct 18, 1983, and one son, Harvie Scroggins, who died at the age of two in 1938.
He is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Doyle, and Betty and Joe Robinson, of Holdenville; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; three sisters, Opal Yarbrough, and Odie Gordon, both of Muskogee, and Jessie Belle Sims of Hobbs, New Mexico; and three brothers, Lee Scroggins, Ray Scroggins, and Troy Scroggins, all of Holdenville.
