Our beloved mother and grandmother, Belva Wilson Broadbent, 93, passed away peacefully following a lingering illness in Layton, Utah on April 21, 2005.

Belva was born on August 31, 1911 in Midway, Utah to James Brigham and Lota Eliza Huffaker Wilson. She married Dee A. Broadbent, December 21, 1934 in the Salt Lake Temple. He died in 1996. She graduated from Wasatch High School and earned a Normal Certificate in Education from Brigham Young University. Belva and her two daughters graduated at the same time from Utah State University in 1958. She enjoyed her associations at the University as she supported her husband in his many positions at USU.

Belva's greatest loves were her husband and family. Dee and Belva raised their family in Logan, Utah where they resided for over 60 years. She had a strong faith in the gospel and a real zest for life. She gave many years of service to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and her husband served two missions in San Diego, California and Atlanta, Georgia.

She enjoyed art, writing, drama, and particularly creating children's books for her family. She enjoyed sharing her home and cooking for friends and family. Her final five years were spent at Apple Village Assisted Living Center in Layton, UT where she provided a great deal of service to her fellow residents. She truly demonstrated how to endure to the end and make life pleasant in the process We send a special thank you to Hospice Alliance for their loving care.
