Mrs J Ellsworth Betz
Mrs Charlotte Betz, 84, of 228 Mauch Chunk St, Tamaqua, died this morning at her home. She had been ill for three years.
Mrs Betz was born in Beaver Meadows, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Emma Jean (James) Johns. She had lived in Tamaqua for the past 35 years.
Mrs Betz was a member of the First Methodist Church, Tamaqua. Her husband, J Ellsworth, preceded her in death.
Surviving are 12 children, John, Tamaqua; Richard, Philadelphia; Charlotte, wife of Roger Bell, Belvedere, NJ; Dorothy, wife of George Martin, Schuylkill Haven; William, Pottsville; Ellsworth, Tamaqua; Jean, wife of Dr Eric Walter, Wooster, Ohio; Caroline, wife of Gary Sinton, Pottsville; Ruth, wife of Lester Gerber, Tamaqua; Lois, wife of Oscar Sinton, Tamaqua; Robert, Tamaqua, with whom she lived; 33 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren.
Services will be Monday morning from the E Franklin Griffith Funeral Home, Tamaqua. Burial will be in Vine Street Cemetery, Hazleton.
