She was born in McDowell County to the late Clifton Burnette and Mattie Bailey Burnette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two siblings, Ralph Burnette and Chonita Hollifield Frasier and a beloved niece, Teresa Foxx Duncan.
A devoted wife to Dock D. Autrey of the home, mother to Cliff Autrey and wife Tiny of Ringgold, GA, grandmother to Nikki McDaniel and husband, Mike, of Marion and great-grandmother to the unborn John Michael McDaniel, she was a member of the Garden Creek Baptist Church and recently attended New Manna Baptist Church.
She was an avid birdwatcher and gardener. Also surviving are special loved ones Kay and Dale Franklin of Marion and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, December 13, 2004, in the McCall Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Mike McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at the McDowell Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials may be made to Hospice of McDowell County, 218 Logan Street, Marion, NC 28752 in lieu of flowers.
