James Arthur Carter, 14, and John William Hickman, 14, both of Georgetown, were riding on a dirt road when they crossed into the path of the truck, the coroner said. Both teen-agers died at the scene with multiple injuries, Williams said.
The youths were cousins, he said. [Note: Second cousins once removed.]
The driver of the truck, Mikell White, 30, of Huger, suffered minor injuries when he tried to avoid the collision and ran his truck off the road. He was treated and released from Georgtown Memorial Hospital, Williams said.
The coroner's office and the S. C. Highway Patrol were investinging the accident.
The funeral for the youths will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Delight Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Mayer Funeral Home, will be in Lambert Family Cemetery.

Surviving, in additon to his parents are a brother, David A. Carter of Georgetown; three sisters, Margaret C. Thomas, Olivia Ann Carter and Felicia Lane Carter, all of Georgetown; his grandparents, David A. Carter of Athens,
Tenn., and Mr. and Mrs. Monroe T. Lambert of Georgetown; and his great-grandmother, Frances W. Lambert of Georgetown.
John William Hickman was born in Georgetown, a son of William Rudolph Hickman and Sallie Corene Lambert Hickman. He was a seventh grade student at Rosemary Middle School in Andrews. He attended St. Delight Church, its Sunday School, and its Youth Group.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two sisters, Kathy H. Lambert of Georgetown and Sallie H. Thomason of Cherokee, N.C.
