Mrs. Carrie Thomas, 84, of Clarksville, died Saturday morning at the Hesche nursing home where she had been a patient for a short time. She was born May 20, 1893 in Lake Odessa, the daughter of William and Ella May Hunter Speicher. She married Jay Swiger in 1912. He preceded her in death in 1950. She married John Thomas, he preceded her in death in February 1954. Mrs. Thomas lived on a farm west of Lake Odessa until moving to Clarksville in 1950. She was a member of the Clarksville Bible church and the CIC club.

Survivors include three sons William C. Swiger of Nashville, Richard C. of Saranac and Jay of Clarksville; one daughter Mrs. Crystal Tucker of Drummond Island; one brother, Cassie Speicher of Diamond Bar, California; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday at 3 p.m. from the Clarksville Bible church with Rev. Elwood Norton officiating. Burial is in Clarksville cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel Saturday 2 to 6 p.m. and Sunday 7 to 9 p.m.
