Oldest child of Joseph Hickman and Mary Ann Rowley. Sarah and her husband William were second cousins.

East Liverpool Review, East Liverpool OH, Wednesday 20 February 1957, page 7 - LISBON - MRS. SARA P. ROWLEY of R. D. 1 died at Salem City Hospital at 4:20 a.m. today. She was a patient since Feb. 12 when she fell and broke a hip. She was 83. Born Sept. 19, 1873, at Bridgeville, Pa., a daughter of JOSEPH and ANNA ROWLEY HICKMAN, she was married to WILLIAM G. ROWLEY, who died June 6, 1942. Before her marriage she taught school. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Wayne Township Grange and a resident of this vicinity for 52 years. Mrs. Rowley is survived by a son, JOSEPH A. ROWLEY at home; a daughter, MRS. MARIE WEBBER of East Liverpool; a sister, MRS. JOHN T. WALLACE and two brothers, JOHN HICKMAN and EARL HICKMAN, all of Bridgeville, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bethel Presbyterian Church near Highlandtown by the Rev. Paul T. Gerrard, pastor of the Lisbon church. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1 p.m. until the hour of services at the Bethel Church. Friends may call at the Rowley home, four miles south of Lisbon on Route 164, any time Thursday afternoon and evening.
